Electrical maintenance before a loose connection becomes a no-cool call

Panels, outdoor disconnects, and GFCI outlets fail quietly. TXT Home Services checks them on a maintenance visit so a loose lug or a dead safety outlet shows up in a note, not as a burnt smell. EL EC13015890. Serving Winter Garden, Clermont, and greater Orlando.

Close look at a residential breaker panel during maintenance

What gets looked at

The panel cover comes off. We look for heat discoloration, loose lugs, double-tapped breakers, and breakers that no longer match the wire. Outdoor GFCI outlets get tested. The air conditioner disconnect and whip get checked, because that is where Florida sun and rain finish off a connection.

What you should still do

Test the GFCI outlets in the kitchen, baths, and garage once in a while with the button on the face. Do not open the panel yourself. If a breaker is warm or the panel buzzes, stop and call. That is no longer maintenance.

Questions about electrical maintenance

How often should a house have the panel checked?

Every few years for a normal house, and sooner if the panel is older, outdoors in a disconnect, or the air conditioner has been tripping. We will say what the visit found, not sell you a new panel by default.

Is this the same visit as AC maintenance?

No. AC maintenance is the equipment. Electrical maintenance is the panel, the safety outlets, and the disconnect that feeds the equipment. They can be booked the same day.
