What a repair covers
The short hose behind the dryer, the connection at the wall, a hood flap stuck with paint or lint, and a section of pipe that has come apart in the attic or the crawl. If the whole run is the wrong material, we say so and price a replacement instead of patching vinyl that will crush again.
Repair versus a new line
A loose connection, a bad clamp, or a hood that can be freed is a repair. A run of crushed plastic, a line with no slope to the outside, or a hood buried in the stucco is a replacement. You get both options with a number on each when the visit calls for it.
Questions about dryer vent repair
Can you repair the vent without replacing the dryer?
Yes. Most of these calls are the line and the hood, not the machine. If the dryer itself is the problem, we will say that and not sell you pipe you do not need.
Is this the same visit as a cleaning?
Often, yes. We clean the lint out and repair what the cleaning shows. They are priced as the work they are, so a simple cleaning stays a cleaning.
